One of Michigan football‘s top targets for the class of 2019 has reportedly reaffirmed his commitment to Florida State.
Savannah (Ga.) Islands 4-star linebacker Kalen DeLoach told Noles 247 that he is “locked in” and will sign with the Seminoles on Wednesday.
“It was very stressful,” DeLoach told Noles 247. “But I had to sit down and look at what was best for me. For me and my future. How would I want to see myself life after football basically. I felt like this was a good place for me to do that. I’m just ready to come to Florida State.”
According to the 247Sports Composite, DeLoach is the No. 243 overall prospect for 2019.
He committed to Florida State on July 30, yet appeared to consider other schools throughout the fall. DeLoach took an official visit to Michigan on Nov. 3 for the Wolverines’ 42-7 win over Penn State, and hosted several in-home visits from U-M’s coaching staff during the contact period.
DeLoach wasn’t the only linebacker prospect Michigan was trying to flip. Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star linebacker Anthony Solomon, verbally committed to Miami, was in Ann Arbor for an official visit this weekend.
The Wolverines are still awaiting decisions from several other top prospects.
Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy Orange 5-star defensive end Zach Harrison and Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick 4-star receiver Cornelius Johnson (who took an official visit to Michigan this weekend) are both slated to announce on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
The Wolverines continue to recruit Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington 5-star safety Daxton Hill, a former commitment who flipped to Alabama on Dec. 8.
