The writing has been on the wall for weeks for Eric Gray.
The 4-star running back commit out of Memphis, Tenn. has been shopping around for months. He’s visited local school Tennessee three times, including one official, and Ole Miss twice unofficially.
After his second trip to the Grove this past weekend, he announced his future visit plans. Ann Arbor is missing from the itinerary.
“Pretty much now, we’re not going back up there (to Michigan),” Gray said to 247Sports’ Ryan Callahan ($). “You’ve just been away from a place for so long, you start having doubts. You start seeing all these other places.”
The 5-foot-10, 193-pounder out of Lausanne Collegiate High said he’s still planning to take official visits to Ole Miss the weekend of Dec. 7 and Alabama the weekend of Dec. 14. He officially visited Michigan on June 22, back laments the fact he hasn’t seen an actual game.
After committing to the Wolverines back in July, he is now pretty blunt on their chances.
“I haven’t decommitted yet,” he said to Callahan, “but it’s just hanging in the balance.”
Gray ranks No. 209 overall in the 247Sports Composite for the 2019 class. Michigan still has 24 commitments for this cycle, including top-100 prospect Zach Charbonnet.
