The Michigan Wolverines have boosted the recruiting each year under head coach Jim Harbaugh. While 2020 is still a year away, two local players have been on the Wolverines radar for some time, and the possibility of landing them took a step toward becoming a lot more realistic on Thursday (January 3). A game-by-game preview for the 2016 Michigan schedule is also available.
Keeping the local kids local
According to SB Nation, Enzo Jennings tweeted out on Wednesday (January 2) that he narrowed his choices down to eleven schools, including The University of Michigan.
When a junior in high school narrows his choices down to eleven schools, you know he must be special – especially when you see which schools he is choosing from. The four-star athlete, who hails from Oak Park, is in the list of the 100 top athletes preparing to head to college in 2020.
Just by watching his highlight reel, I can see why. Jennings is a flat out beast on the field.

While he plays defensive back, Maizen Brew indicates that Jennings could also spend a bit of time at wide receiver in the collegiate ranks. Nevertheless, this 6-foot-2, 175-pound high school junior has half of the top-ranked teams in the nation wanting him to come aboard.

The list of schools that are more than interested in obtaining Jennings includes top SEC programs the Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, Florida Gators, and Tennessee Volunteers. If that isn’t impressive enough, the Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Panthers, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are the others that also have interest.
At the moment 24/7 sports indicates that Notre Dame has the inside track for the blue chipper, but clearly, nothing is written in stone. The NFL Wild Card playoff schedule is also available .
For Jim Harbaugh to land a player like Jennings would be huge for the Wolverines. Currently listed as the No. 2 player in the state, Jennings also plays beside five-star offensive lineman Justin Rogers. Listed at 6′ 2″ and 311 lbs on 247 Sports, Rogers is one of the few who has earned a five-star label.
In a recent interview posted to YouTube, Rogers indicated that he is considering a few programs, including Alabama. However, when asked about the Michigan Wolverines, he said he is warming up to the idea of possibly playing in Ann Arbor after a recent trip to the campus.
Rogers said he would love to go to a winning program and start as a freshman. The way he plays, starting as a freshman is very possible. If coach Harbaugh could add both of these stars in 2020, that would be something!
