Michigan football’s defense was already on the ropes.
Then it lost one of its most important players.
Junior linebacker Devin Bush Jr. left with what appeared to be a serious injury nearly midway through the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Fox sideline reporter Jenny Taft said it was a thigh injury for Bush, whose return is questionable.
Bush was chasing Ohio State receiver Parris Campbell after Campbell caught a pass on a short crossing route.
Bush appeared to suffer the injury toward the end of the 31-yard play.
Michigan’s trainers went out to check on him. Then defensive coordinator Don Brown and coach Jim Harbaugh did, too. At one point, it looked like Bush would be taken off in a cart.
Eventually, he was helped off the field by two trainers, putting very little weight on either leg, especially his left.
