Michigan football lost Daxton Hill last week to Alabama, but now, according to multiple sources, the 5-star safety is considering a flip back to the Wolverines.
After all, Hill was the top-rated prospect in the 2019 recruiting class for the Wolverines and their only 5-star commit, at least as of right now. Zach Harrison could come into the fold next week, but that is still up in the air.
However, in the last two days, there have been rumblings that Hill might be considering a switch back to Michigan football. The rumors started when a crystal ball prediction changed from Alabama back to Michigan.
Yet, it was hard to trust that source, because it came from an Ohio State insider, so some believed that he was simply trolling the Wolverines and getting fans hopes up for no reason. Who knows, that could be the case, however, Wolverines Wire on its “Locked on Wolverines” podcast said it has heard the same thing and from the same sources that said he was going to commit to Michigan earlier. If you want, listen for yourself. The podcast is put on by Wolverines Wire’s Isaiah Hole.

Hole addresses the rumors a couple of minutes into the podcast and even mentions that the flip back from Hill could come fairly soon.
At this point, I don’t know if any Michigan football fans should get their hopes up because it’s hard to know what to believe. Maybe the combination of Ohio State losses and Jim Harbaugh to the NFL rumors spooked him, and now since Harbaugh has crushed those rumors, it’s possible Hill has changed his mind again.
Maize and Brew did have an interesting tidbit about Hill’s family wearing Bama gear and being worried about the Wolverines lack of success in big games, which wouldn’t indicate great things about the Wolverines chances. Yet again, it’s recruiting and anything can happen.
The big news though, is that according to Hole who I trust much more than a crystal ball prediction, Hill is still open to Michigan and to me, that is what matters. It might not happen but it’s not a pipedream either.
