Michigan Basketball is coming off a loss in the National Championship game last year. They start the year with Norfolk State and should win easily. What are the keys for the Wolverines to win this game?

The Michigan Wolverines open up their 2018-19 season with a home game against Norfolk State on Tuesday, November 6th. On paper, this looks like a huge mismatch and Michigan will hope to prove that right.

The Wolverines are coming off a tough loss to Villanova in the National Championship game last year and want to start of the season on a winning note. They lost Moe Wagner, Duncan Robinson, and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman off of last years squad and they will be tough to replace.

John Beilein did bring in a very good recruiting class led by Ignas Brazdeikis. They will look to pair with key returners Charles Matthews, Zavier Simpson, and Jordan Poole to keep the Wolverines on top of the Big Ten.

The Wolverines could probably play below average in this game and still win. Let’s look at some keys for Michigan to not only win this game but feel good about the way they played after their opening night.
